You are best off buying plain front, non pleaded, pants with somewhat elastic waistbands. These are widely available.

Sometimes the trousers length comes out a bit too long. Before sewing the excess length in, wear and wash the trouser at least once.

Fitting big and tall pants.

Do not measure the trouser right after the washing before you correct the length, walk in it a half day or so to let the pants adjust to you. Than when the pants fit is at its best, measure by standing on the ground on your socks. The pants should be folded in, just reaching the ground.

Always wear a belt, a belt with some elastic material in it is preferable as it helps moving around.
