Big shoes needs Large feet.

That's clear, big shoes need large feet!

Did you know that large shoes usually do not have the same length /width relation than regular sizes?

Large shoes have visible less width in relation to its length. They are exactly the opposite of wide width shoes.

It wont hurt you to check the wide width footwear is measured. Long length is measured the opposite way! You will learn there that you have small width feet with extra length!

If you are long aswell, and your feet are reasonable proportioned to your length, check out the example below.

It explains the effects of your length on a shoe forces and absorbing.

Long John example

Following example explains how long people generate extra forces on feet and shoes!

Long people have longer strides, they take less steps to cross the same distance. Thus the average step of a long person carries more "weight" and impact than a regular length guy.

A bit exaggerated (but close) example:
  • Average Joe walks a distance of 300 feet and makes 150 steps.
  • Long John walks the same 300 feet but makes 120 steps.
  • Joe weights 160 pounds.
  • John weights 160 pounds.

Long John makes 20% less steps but has to generate 25% more energy per step to arrive in the same time frame. Spending just as much energy as Average Joe!.

To equalize the amount of energy per step, Mr Average Joe would have to gain 25% weight..--> Average John would have to be 200 pounds (obese) to mimic the same forces in the feet of Long John.

Conclusion:

LONG PEOPLE should choose shoes as if they are overweight! Just to mitigate their longer strive!.
