What to Wear Working at Mount Athos

I was working at Mount Athos when I was younger and as I am definitely a member of the 50+years-old club, I can say that my experience would be useful to the young.

Well, working at Agion Oros - Mount Athos is like working at any other mountain which is near to the sea.

Your priority must be to wear the right shoes. You better wear strong waterproof boots, with inside iron protective for toes and sole of the foot.

Then you have to protect your head. Different kinds of hats, depending the season. One Panama hat during at summer time and a woolen skull cap at winter time.

Do not use narrow trousers! A large military form was comfortable for me. Vacuum underwear and socks are necessary at any time.

One fleece blouse, or whatever warm blouse with high neck, a short-sleeved shirt, a long-sleeved shirt and work gloves.

One warm jacket and another waterproof and you're done!
